When I learned how to properly eat, I felt better, performed better and was able to accomplish my goals!

I started competing in CrossFit in 2011 just months after joining CrossFit Norwalk. I had no idea what a competition entailed or how they work, but the competitor in me was excited. I walked into the gym early that morning to check in and I saw other competitors walking in with these big gym bags, coolers, and some even had pillows. I brought one pair of shorts, one shirt, one pair of socks and one pair of compressions. Little did I know that we would be challenged with 4 different workouts and the competition would last all day.

After the second workout I was practically starving and drove to a deli between workouts for food. Many members of my gym were following the Paleo Diet and I remember learning a little about it so I went for a salad with some nuts on the side. My mistake! The following workouts left me even more tired than the previous and I just had nothing left in the tank. During the last workout, I clearly looked like a beginner and finished last in my heat. It was obvious I did not fuel myself correctly.

After that day, I started doing my own research on foods, diets, and nutrients to help with my athletic performance. I started and stopped protein powders, pre-workouts, creatine and many of the other popular powders. But it was not until I really understood my specific dietary needs during my Graduate program where my performance took off and I was able to accomplish my 7 year goal of making it to the CrossFit Games and finishing 7th overall with CrossFit Milford.

I am a Certified Nutritionist, I hold my Master’s in Human Nutrition from the University of Bridgeport and have my Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Sciences from Union College. I am also currently completing school for becoming a Licensed Dietician. In addition to diet, I also find it extremely important to be in control of other lifestyle factors such as stress and sleep. Holistically we look at these two in our assessments and then use stress management and some nutritional interventions to reduce stress and increase the quality of sleep. My Goal is to help people feel better and more energized!

My approach is to understand your background and where you are coming from to help us create the appropriate plan for you.

This begins with an assessment of your current nutrition, lifestyle, and fitness.

We will then create an individualized plan for your personal needs and will walk you step-by-step through the specifics of each and every change. Setting goals and expectations to keep you on track.

Lastly, we will follow up with check-ins to ensure maximum success.

You can expect increased energy, better sleep, improved gut health, hormonal regulation, nutritional education, stress reduction, weight management, a happier you, and most importantly a sustainable nutrition plan.
